This Tall Drink of Glassy Water Is Replacing Kips Bay's Bricks

New, 6 comments

Renderings for a new residential tower at 229 Lexington Avenue have surfaced via NY YIMBY, and reveal a very glassy, vertical facade from C3D Architecture. Although it will be of a similar height to the surrounding buildings, it will certainly stand out, as everything else on the block is made of brick. Developed by Albert Shirian of the NY Lions Group, the 14-story tower will include 40 residential units and ground-floor retail. Demolition permits for the two low-rise buildings that currently stand at the site have already been approved.
