Glassy Condos Oddly Dubbed 'The Baron' To Rise in Astoria

New, 1 comment

A rather large condo building will soon sprout on Broadway at 14th Street in Astoria (note: not Long Island City). The glassy development, to be known as The Baron, will rise eight-stories and have 77 one- to three-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 500 to 1,500-square-feet, reports Queens Courier (h/t DNAinfo). Raymond Chan designed the very-terraced building and New York Lions Group is the developer.

Queens Courier reports that the ground floor (and presumably the second floor) will have slightly larger duplex apartments. Building amenities will include underground parking, a doorman, a gardened second-floor terrace, a children's play area, a gym, and bike racks. The building, which is just down the street from Socrates Sculpture Park, is taking over a lot once shared by two auto shops. If all goes according to plan, it should be complete in September 2016.
