You Can Play Chess on the Floor of This Lower East Side Co-op

Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

At first glance, it appears that the flooring in this one-bedroom co-op in 208 East Broadway in the Seward Park complex is made of two different kinds of wood, but upon closer inspection it's actually just one kind with the grain facing in alternating directions. Either way, it's a somewhat odd choice, but one that adds an element of quirkiness to the 821-square-foot pad, which is on the market for $600,000 with some pretty low maintenance costs of $523. While the kitchen, and — let's face it — the bedroom are pretty cramped, the place does have an abundance of closets.
