Fashion designer Elie Tahari has funneled some of the funds garnered from his 1980's popularization of the womens pantsuit into a two-apartment combination at the esteemed 15 Central Park West. Tahari nabbed the two ninth-floor pads for $25.25 million, a little shy of their $29 million ask, 6sqft reports. Combined, the spread has five bedrooms and comes with the largest outdoor space in the building, a 3,319-square-foot terrace. The fashion mogul's move will be a short one; Tahari's been renting a $30,000 per month apartment in the building from landlord Marisa Chearavanont, the daughter-in-law of a Thai billionaire, for the last four years.
Apartment 9G was formerly occupied by the Academy Award-winning writer and director John Ridley, but more recently both pads were owned by Mexican businessman Fernando Chico Pardo. Despite its glorious terrace, the retaining wall really shunts the apartments views making for some meh, if not private, scenery. For 15 Central Park West and all its haughty connotations, this pad looks kind of boring, no?
