The Shirley Chisholm Day Care Center, one of Park Slope's only day cares for low-income families, will be demolished and replaced with condominiums in a move that is as depressing as it is unsurprising. "I think [the condos] will blend right in and be phenomenal," said American Development Group CEO Perry Finkelman. Not so phenomenal for the 95 families that the center served, but hey, you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs displacing a bunch of children from low-income families.
