Thirty new storefronts will open in the Columbus Circle subway station next year thanks to a project called TurnSyle. Nearly 60 percent of the sites have been leased, and tenants include Magnolia Bakery, Joe Coffee, Dylan's Candy Store, and MAC Cosmetics. Shopping in a subway station may seem ridiculous, but hey, people said the same thing about the Grand Central transformation in the 1990s. [NYT]
