It's been awhile since the controversial condo/hotel tower for the South Street Seaport was in the news, but don't worry, Howard Hughes is still planning on it. Details are still iffy, but the developer recently confirmed that it will be 700,000 square feet. Reps also said a tower is the only way to fund public space improvements, the rebuilding of the Tin Building, and "some sort of rescue plan" for the South Street Seaport Museum. A revised plan will be out soon, and ULURP will start early next year, putting it on track for completion in 2017 or 2018. [UrbanLand; previously]
