As the New York Public Library's landmarked 42nd Street flagship continues to sort out an alternate renovation plan to the stacks-killing Norman Foster design that was nixed earlier this year, officials are traveling to other cities for models in architecture. So, they've done this search-for-inspiration before, but this time, they're visiting bookstores, museums, and... the Apple store.
