In what has become a familiar story, a Brooklyn preschool and social services provider is getting evicted to make way for new condos. Bushwick United, which operates eight other preschools in Bushwick and Williamsburg, tells Brooklyn Paper that is has been told by the city to vacate by the end of the year. "They are letting people build condos and forget about the children. It is really frustrating and we do not know what to do," said the organization's spokesperson, Marilyn Acosta. According to a spokesperson for the city, The Administration for Children's Services is looking for a new preschool location for the 106 displaced children and "will continue working to ensure that the best interests of the children are prioritized." So far, there is no evidence of who the developer is that bought the site, or what his or her specific plans are.
