A long-stalled hotel site in the Financial District will finally see some action. A 35-story hotel was planned for the parcel at 50 Trinity Place as early as 2008, and ubiquitous developer Sam Chang was rumored to be behind it. Well, stuff went downhill, it never happened and our man Sam sold the spot at the corner of Rector back in 2012. Permits show Fit Investment Corporation traded out Gene Kaufman and tapped Peter Poon (shocker) to build 188 rooms over 29 stories. [TRD; previously]
