Gorgeous 150-Year-Old Bronx Mansion Overlooks the Hudson

New, 6 comments

Our semi-regular feature, Monday Mansion, examines the most interesting mega homes on the market in the far reaches of New York. Have a listing in mind that we're missing? Tell us about it. To the outer boroughs we go!

In some ways it's hard to believe that a house like this really exists within the confines of New York City, but here's 9 Sigma Place up in Riverdale, asking $2.375 million. The 1865 five-bedroom sits on three-quarters of an acre of land looking out over the Hudson River, and benefited from a recent restoration that modernized the place while retaining a large number of period details. According to Streeteasy, the house was originally listed in March 2013 for $3.2 million and went into contract this July (at which point it was down to $2.5 million). It's back now, though, so that must have fallen through. Highlights include the sunroom with radiant-heat flooring, that huge window in the master bedroom, and of course, the sweeping Hudson River views.
