Despite strong opposition from neighbors and local officials, the plan for the 20-story nursing facility Jewish Home Lifecare on West 97th Street was given the green light from the state. The State Department of Health published a 504-page Environmental Impact Statement about the project, and essentially says the concerns over traffic and lead levels at the site are not problems.
