Chelsea Townhouse with Rooftop Hot Tub Wants $12 Million

New, 15 comments

The four-story townhouse at 231 West 22nd Street was purchased in January 2012 for $2.45 million and, after a gut renovation, has returned to the market for $11.995 million. The whole thing is very sleek and minimal, with white walls, light wood flooring, recessed lighting, and few built-ins. Notable new features (really, it looks like all the features are new) include an elevator, a glass-enclosed staircase, and a rooftop hot tub that is referred to in the brokerbabble as a "Michael Phelps Swim Spa & Resistance Swimming Pool." It looks like Michael Phelps could fit about half of one of his legs in that thing, but sure. There's also a very nice rear yard and seven (seven!) bedrooms.
