Legal Woes

Atlantic Yards developer Forest City Ratner will buy out modular construction company Skanska after the companies became embroiled in two lawsuits (one from each party) and the sides have now agreed on a price, according to a letter they sent to the judge. However, other terms are still under negotiation. The deal will probably be announced in the coming days. UPDATE: So "the coming days" actually meant "the coming hours." At 11:45 a.m., Forest City and Skanska announced that Forest City will "purchase the ownership interest of Skanska Modular LLC in their jointly owned modular factory business in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, FC+Skanska Modular, LLC, for an undisclosed amount." This means that construction can finally resume construction of Atlantic Yards' first residential tower, B2. [Brownstoner; previously]
