Street artist Hot Tea recently installed a piece on the facade of 190 Bowery, the derelict building just sold by photographer Jay Maisel for a reported $50 million, using large pieces of wood that fit into the building's existing architecture. The lettering spells out the opinion of the artist and many Lower East Siders concerning one of the Bowery's last vestiges of grittiness being sold to developers: "UUGHH." [Untapped; previously]
