After Modern Makeover, Old Harlem Low-Rise Has 12 Rentals

A building on Frederick Douglass Boulevard between 131st and 132nd streets, which dates back to 1901, just got a modern makeover. Yes, that means the facade, too... which isn't as, er, timeless as one would hope. Nonetheless, contained within the now-larger building are 12 rental apartments, which hit the market this week. Of the seven units currently listed, most are 3BR/1.5BAs, which range from $2,795 to $2,895 per month. One two-bedroom is $2,595. Sporting some exposed brick, wood floors, and big windows, the nicest-looking apartments are listed with Halstead, but there's a disclaimer that the images "represent finishes in another building owned by same landlord." The other photos below, from units brokered by Icon Realty, seem to present a more realistic picture of the situation.
