The New York Times has proclaimed a New Brooklyn, which is pretty exciting because this only happens every once in a blue week. This time it's Ridgewood, Queens, a neighborhood whose previously claim to fame was being proclaimed one of three New Brooklyns by the New York Times in 2012. Now (as then, but more so) Ridgewood contains things like "artsy types [in] hoodies and black-frame glasses," "vegan muffins," "tote bags," and cynically opportunistic real estate interests. Congratulations, Ridgewood. Enjoy all the construction.
