The public-records stalkers over at The Real Deal spotted the day's most interesting closed transaction: Big Bang Theory's
Sheldon Cooper Jim Parsons (IRL) just bought not one, but two apartments at the Gramercy Park condo conversion where he already owns two other places. The most recent buys are a penthouse for $2.8 million, and another unit for $815,000. (On the deeds, the former unit is listed as PHD, and the latter as PHD, and these seem to have never hit the open market; only penthouses A, B, and C show up in past sales on StreetEasy.) Parsons, who has purchased all the homes along with his boyfriend Todd Spiewak, first bought in the building back in 2011, and that was a 12th-floor two-bedroom for $1.8 million. Later, the pair bought another place for $2.8 million on the same floor. That's a total of $8.2M in purchases within four years.
Are they planning some wacky combination? Who does he think he is, snatching up so many places in the same building: a TV powerhouse as successful as Jimmy Fallon? Knock, knock, knock. Yes. Knock, knock, knock. Yes. Knock, knock, knock. YES.
