GREENWICH VILLAGE—New York University has announced that they will enlist the services of 9/11 Museum architect Davis Brody Bond along with KieranTimberlake in building the new multi-use structure that will rise on the site of the grim Coles Sports Center on Mercer Street between Bleecker Street and Houston. The building is just one component of the school's contested expansion plan that was okayed in 2012. The building, the first to be developed as part of the school's 2031 plan, will hold classrooms, theater space, a gym, and student and faculty housing. [DNAinfo; previously]

CHELSEA—The beautifully renovated 1840 townhouse at 460 West 22nd Street has sold for $16 million even to an anonymous LLC. The home made headlines with its late September listing for asking four times as much as it sold for in 2012. Broker Fredrik Eklund was quick to take to Instagram before the sale hit public record, claiming that it broke a record by selling for over $4,000/square foot. [Department of Finance]

Now that's a lovely place.
