From the Second Avenue Subway construction watch corner comes this update from the MTA: with the finishing touches being put on the 86th Street station this week, work is (an unbelievably precise) 76 percent done on Phase 1. That section of the T line, slated to open in December 2016, will stretch from 96th Street down to meet an existing stop at 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue. Total cost: $4.45 billion.
