The MTA wants $300 million for improvements to the L train line, which would include creating new entrances at the Bedford Avenue stop in Brooklyn and the First Avenue stop in Manhattan. At Bedford, this would be in the form of new stairs on the east side of the street, while in the East Village, a whole new entry point equipped with fare control would be built at Avenue A.
