At first glance, the absolute lack of color appears to be the strangest thing about this $1.295 million West 13th Street apartment. But lo, a closer look reveals that there is no door to the bathroom, or enclosure surrounding the shower. Why? Because the shower is the door, or the gateway, to the bathroom. Space efficiency is certainly essential in a lot of New York City apartments, but the jury is still out on whether it's efficient rather than downright annoying to have to pass through the shower while it's in use in order to use the toilet.
