Mayor Bill de Blasio wants to change up the works of art displayed in City Hall... mostly because so many of them are of old white men, which doesn't really reflect his deeply held principles of increasing diversity. But not so fast: the portrait collection is worth an estimated $80 million, at the very lowest end, and art experts say they're valuable. So don't just shove them in a storage closet. Also, the Met is willing to lend BdB some pieces that better reflect African-American history, so that's just jolly. [NYP; previously]
