The biggest upset of the week came in the very first Curbed Cup match-up of the year when number 16 seed City Island handily topped number 1 seed West Chelsea, even though the neighborhood saw a tremendous amount of action, including the completion of the High Line. The other major upset came with no. 13 Prospect-Lefferts Gardens beating no. 4 Hudson Yards by a mere eight votes. The rest of the wins were pretty expectedthe Financial District and 57th Street trounced Ridgewood and Mott Havenbut there were a few close races. Tribeca won by just 12 votes, and South Williamsburg and LIC were locked in a back-and-forth until the latter ultimately pulled ahead. Round two starts on Monday, but in the meantime, which Elite Eight competitor do you think will be neighborhood of the year?
