It Ain't Easy Being Green

Mayor de Blasio wants to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2050, and here are a few of the ways the administration plans to reach that ambitious goal. First, focus on the biggest energy-suckers: its 1 million buildings that use energy for electricity, heating and cooling, starting with the 4,000 properties owned and operated by by the city. Second, 300 new solar projects. Third, offer incentives for private entities and individual homeowners to cut down their energy use. And if they don't bite, make them. [NYT]
