The site of Williamsburg's old Salvation Army, whose closure and subsequent demolition has caused a stir in the area over the last four years, is about to have a new owner. Located on Bedford Avenue near North 7th Street, the site is apparently in high demand from developers; the broker received "five to six offers a week for the property and over the last three years the organization had been determining the best and highest use for the site. ... Proceeds from the sale will benefit Salvation Army's adult rehabilitation centers." All right, bets are open for rentals vs. condos. [CO; previously]
