MIDTOWN75 Rockerfeller Plaza will undergo a major Kohn Pedersen Fox-led redesign. World Architecture News reports that the landmarked building "will be rebuilt to a nearly new condition and a major concourse will be introduced to connect 51st and 52nd Street." The renovation will seek LEED Gold standard and will include energy-efficient storefronts, a green roof, energy-efficient mechanicals, and thermally improved aluminum windows. ALL OVERSo everyone knows that renting in the city is ridiculously expensive, especially this past year, but room sharing website Spare Room decided to really rub that in by compiling a list of average rents using ads on their site as data. The website concluded that the average room in the city this year cost $1,208 per month. Manhattan reigned as the priciest borough with a room commanding an average of $1,308 per month, followed by Brooklyn's $1,104, Queens' $857, the Bronx's $741, and Staten Island's $684.
