Tadao Ando-Designed Nolita Condos Will Start At $5.9M

New, 10 comments

As one would expected of a residential project by a Pritzker Prize-winner, the condos at 152 Elizabeth Street—the first New York project by Japanese architect Tadao Ando—will pretty pricey. The boutique Nolita development has just seven units over seven stories, and the Real Deal reports that prices will start at $5.9 million for half-floor units, while the most expensive unit hitting the full-floor units start at $15 million. The project now has a teaser site, and sales will start in early 2015. The two- to five-bedroom homes will range from 1,900 to 5,600+ square feet, and feature "bespoke interiors" by Gabellini Sheppard.

A full rendering has yet to be revealed, but the building materials, according to a statement, include "poured-in-place concrete, galvanized steel, and voluminous glass," all of which are signatures of Ando's work. Signage is up at the site, and demolition of the existing commercial building is underway. The project is set for a 2016 completion.
