A task force formed by Manhattan community boards 5 and 6 is expected to vote against the plan for SL Green's massive One Vanderbilt tower tonight, the Wall Street Journal reports. According to sources, the thumbs-down vote will come unless the developer agrees to move a public entrance to Grand Central Terminal and the East Side Access terminal, and to update the LEED goals for the building to obtain platinum status. SL Green retorts that the changes aren't currently feasible, but Councilman Daniel Garodnick reassures the group that they are taking their concerns seriously. The project will soon move onto the city's public review process (ULURP), throughout which the community board task force's recommendations will remain, well, recommendations.
