Yotel, the space-planning conscious, high-tech hotel brand, announced last week that it would be planting its roots in (where other than) Williamsburg. YIMBY obtained renderings of a pitched design for the site, and while architect CetraRuddy says their plan was ultimately not chosen, it seems Brooklynites should expect that what the small hotel empire will build probably won't recall the brick and industrial vibe of Williamsburg past. The hotel will rise at 646 Lorimer Street, also 280 Meeker Avenue, and will cover about 60,000-square-feet. Synapse Capital is developing the project. While CetraRuddy's plan also included a residential component, there's no guarantee the chosen design will also have apartments.
