Speaking of illegal animals, on Saturday night, state police, investigators from the New York Attorney General's Office, and the Department of Homeland Security arrested eight people in connection with an underground (literally) cockfighting ring operating out of the basement of an abandoned storefront at 74-26 Jamaica Avenue in Queens. The bust, dubbed "Operation Angry Birds," led to the recovery of around 3,000 birds, which were turned over the ASPCA. [Runnin Scared]
