This photograph was taken when the building was relatively new, in the first half of the 20th century. The regal architecture of the building was meant to draw in customers by showcasing the institution's solvency. Although much of this neighborhood was decimated by roads advocate Robert Moses, this intersection remains intact. This site has hosted several ventures over the decades.
