On Friday, when State Democrats unveiled a $750 million plan to create new middle-income housing, the Mitchell-Lama program reared its head in the media again. Over the weekend, a WNYC assistant producer tried to woo us on the program's merits. "I'm one of the lucky ones," the producer writes on her experience in the Mitchell-Lama lottery, which landed her a one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn Heights' Cadman Towers for $38,000 just a year or so ago.
