At long last, riding the subway can be a truly mindless activity for New Yorkers! That is, if the MTA gets behind this: a non-affiliated group that calls themselves the Efficient Passenger Project aims to install signs throughout subway platforms that tell riders the most effective place to board the train for certain transfers. As glorious as this service may sound, the MTA believes it will lead to overcrowding and uneven loading conditions. So the question is, civic service or public nuisance? [Animal; official]
