With few exceptions, conversions are among the coolest spaces in the city. This 1900-built school, located at Saint Nicholas Avenue between 126th and 127th streets, is no exception. Renaissance Revival-style P.S. 157 was converted to apartments in 1993; there are 73 units spread over five floors, and two are currently available for rent. Harlem Bespoke first spotted the apartments with "dramatic windows and arched ceilings"; a 1,000-square-foot two-bed, two bath is renting for $2,900/month, while a 1BR/1BA is $2,350. The same photos (below) are listed for both apartments, and the brokerbable is identical:
Turn of the century charm building, all apartments features very high ceilings, crown moldings, wood floors, king and queen sized bedrooms, sunny, spacious living room & bedroom, newly renovated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and marble baths, granite counter top, dishwasher, close to public transportation. Pet friendly.
