Businessman Bronfman Sells Fifth Avenue Home for $19.9M

New, 17 comments

The world's 736th wealthiest person, Charles Bronfman, has sold his full-floor apartment at 810 Fifth Avenue to hedge funder David Goel for $19.9 million, the Post reports. A whole bunch of reconfiguring has gone into this now three-bedroom, four-bathroom home with Central Park views since its 1926 construction, notable as the listing includes an original floor plan. At first, the unit housed four maid's rooms and a servants' hall, which have since been converted into a bathroom, just one maid's room, and a library. The master suite has expanded to include his and hers bathrooms and dressing rooms. Also included in the home: a very un-1926 "ultraviolet air cleaning system." The Renaissance-style limestone building was designed by J.E.R. Carpenter, "the architect who shaped upper Fifth Avenue."
