1) Key West: Down in the Conch Republic, Ernest Hemingway's great house stands as a museum to the man and his writing, occupied by his famous polydactyl cats. For Whom The Bell Tolls, The Green Hills Of Africa, and A Farewell To Arms, among others, were just some of his prodigious work attributed to the time he spent at the great old house.
2) Watson Island: The new tunnel leading to the Port of Miami is due to be finished in May, and is a mad hive of construction activity. Do check out our latest photo tour of these two great tubes that will soon transport cruise ship passengers underneath the very ships they are about to board.
3) Star Island: After an epic battle that lasted over a year, a saga good enough for reality TV, Real Housewife of Miami Lisa Hochstein has won the war to demolish her grand old house, designed in 1925 by architect Maurice Fatio.
4) Cocoplum: Hilda Maria Bacardi, of the famous rum family of Miami, is selling her unfinished estate for a still grand $18 million. The 11 bedroom, 13 bathroom palazzo comes with extensive canal frontage and, according to a Curbed commenter, apparently looks just like relative Facundo Bacardi's estate over in Miami Beach.
