Brooklyn Councilman David Greenfield is proposing a new law that would govern how the city deals with unshoveled sidewalks. The new law would allow city-contracted laborers to shovel sidewalks and then bill property owners $250 for the service, and would replace the current system of dealing out $100 summonses to property owners, but leaving the sidewalks unshoveled.
