Community Board 11 voted unanimously yesterday to approve a zoning variance for the ODA-designed 1800 Park Avenue that will allow for more retail space and less parking. The towers, which, at 320 feet, will be the tallest in Harlem, will now feature an additional 63,000 square feet of retail on the first two floors, and less than half the number of parking spaces that zoning required. The second floor was originally going to be used as a garage. [NYDN]
