"I'm all for building in Manhattan, more supply is good news for everyone, rich or low income. That said, why are they turning 57th St. into a dark canyon like this? I don't know how much impact the shadow will have on Central Park but it just seems like an unnecessary concentration of super tall buildings on one single street. I can't think of any other city that built this way. Even Dubai is built in a more sporadic way, not around one street/canyon. And needless to say that regulations in London or Paris are even stricter... and people in the UES/UWS will lose part of their views... or, well, they will get a new view of this wall of buildings. I guess they will get used to it."—carlitony [Hundreds Fret About Superscrapers' Shadows As Extell Rebuts]
