A five-story building sprouting up on the former site of a single-story parking garage at North 4th Street and Metropolitan Avenue has a new rendering, BuzzBuzz has learned. What's slated for 291 Metropolitan Avenue, also known as 206 North 4th Street, is a more traditional structure considering the sea of curtainwall washing over Williamsburg. With its facade of brick, wrought iron, and large, arched windows, the plan is reminiscent of neighborhood factories past, despite its incongruous fifth floor. The Meshberg Group-designed, 27-unit complex will have 19,196-square-feet of residential space, a small 95-square-feet of commercial space, and will provide parking, bike storage, and a roof deck. An early sketch of the building can be found here.
