In Bushwick, landlord-tenant tension is running high, to say the least. Rent-regulated old-timers of 98 Linden Street say their landlord is purposely damaging their apartmentslike making "repairs" that leave the units covered in rubbleand trying every tactic to force them out. One resident, who pays $706/month for a two-bedroom, says: "Our only sin is to have lived here for a long time." This isn't the first time owner Joel Israel has been accused of mistreatment.
