Park Hyatt Hotel In One57 Has Website, Will Open In August

New, 1 comment

Although it may seem impossible at this point that any aspect of One57 could be little-discussed, the little-discussed Park Hyatt hotel that will operate out of Extell's signature 57th Street megatower will open on August 28, the Post reports. UPDATE: A hotel reps reached out to say that the precise opening date isn't yet confirmed, but it will be mid-summer 2014. According to the hotel's new website, which is taking reservations, the cheapest available room is $855/night, while the priciest suite—1,106 square feet with a walk-in rain shower and a soaking tub—costs $1,255/night. There are, however, bigger suites (the largest is 2,239 square feet) that are not yet available on the website. Amenities include "a first-class culinary experience, rejuvenating full-service spa, indoor swimming pool, fully equipped fitness center and more." The restaurant will feature American cuisine from chef Sam Hazen.

One slight twist on the regular old five star hotel outline is that the Park Hyatt's general manager is a "devout advocate for animals" who "is currently shaping the Park Hyatt New York to become a leading pet-friendly hotel with unparalleled amenities for canine companions." (His previous project.) The seems to run contrary to the stance of the condo portion of the building, where there are strict limits on pets and residents aren't even allowed to own ponies (or gerbils, guinea pigs, or bunnies).
