Developer Edward Minskoff took a risky, "if you build it, they will come" approach with his shiny new office tower at 51 Astor Place, but everything is coming up roses. The building sat empty for several months, but the IBM Watson Group recently signed on for 70 percent of the space. They're reported paying in the $80s to $90s per square foot, which is what is needed to make the site profitable. If all goes well, it will be 90 percent leased in a few weeks. [WSJ; previously]
