This Marble-Floored Midwood House Wants $1.85 Million

New, 12 comments

This Midwood townhouse was listed in 2010 for $1.5 million, but failed to entice any buyers. Now it's willing to try again, with an asking price of $1.895 million, hoping that in 2014 people will look more favorably on foyer fountains, double staircases, and enormous chandeliers. The owner purchased the property in 1991 and had the 6BR/4BA house custom built (no kidding) in 1994 "by one of the finest Architects of New York City," whose name, apparently, is not important. We should probably just let the brokerbabble take it from here:

This home was meant to be ideal for grand entertaining and luxury living.
As you enter, the doors open to a welcoming foyer featuring a fascinating oval fountain that is overlooked by a breath grasping chandelier hanging from 20 ft above. Right ahead, a captivating designer staircase that is nothing short of work of art. To the right, a magnificent living room. [...]
Up to the third level, doors open to an enormously large and magnificent master suite. The Suite features its own foyer, a very large sun deck/ porch, a large office area, the master bedroom, hollywood style master bath featuring a large jacuzzi tub, shower cabin, his and her sinks, powder room with many designers touches. In addition to multiple skylights throughout the floor, you have 19 ft ceilings with 2 level windows. Bathe in the morning sunlight and enjoy the unique privacy as this level is the tallest third floor in the entire neighborhood! [...]

The front driveway hosts up to 5 cars!
