The fight to protect the unmarred land and view of 700 acres of New Jersey Palisades from the proposed 143-foot-tall Englewood Cliffs LG headquarters continues. On Friday, preservationists erected a billboard along the Henry Hudson Parkway at 129th Street commanding drivers, "Don't Let LG Spoil the Palisades." The headquarters' proposed site sits directly across from Fort Tryon Park in Inwood and, according to critics, if erected would ruin the majestic views of the Palisades that draw visitors from around the world. In 2013, the World Monuments Fund named New Jersey's Palisades and New York's Cloisters to its annual endangered sites list. Lawsuits against LG aiming to protect the land have stunted the tech giant's expansion plans. [NYDN; previously]
