Wanted: Developer For Two Townhouses On Degraw Street

New, 13 comments

New townhouse developments are having a moment in Brooklyn, and there's a prime opportunity in the Columbia Street Waterfront District for more. The empty lots at 96-98 Degraw Street have approval from the Board of Standards and Appeals for a 6,438-square-foot development of two adjacent three-story townhouses, and the site is being marketed for $2.45 million. Marketing info from TerraCRG says that houses in the area are selling for upwards of $1,050 per square foot, and as we've seen, new townhouses certainly don't take long to find buyers. The rendering above was created by GAteliers Architecture to show the permissible bulk of the site, but please, dear God, let the buyer building something much less...ugly. Townhouses for the lots have been in the works for at least a year; last February, Brownstoner reported that the owners were taking their plans before the community board. Evidently, they decided they'd rather sell than build.
