Several prominent architects and designers have contributed hypothetical ideas for a revamp of New York City's official flag, which dates back to 1625. Starchitect Robert A.M. Stern's proposal is pictured, right, and other amateur vexillographers include Richard Meier, Norman Foster, Milton Glaser, and others. The NYC Landmarks50 Alliance sponsored the playful thought experiment, and the designs will be auctioned off by Sotheby's in an event on February 25. [City Room]
