Despite having its moment in front of CB3's transportation subcommittee following alleged abuses of power by the board, it seems the grassroots proposal to rename the corner of Ludlow and Rivington streets after the Beastie Boys will finally be put to sleep. The subcommittee found that the hip-hop trio did not meet the co-naming guidelines of either 15 years of community involvement, or an exceptional accomplishment worthy of highlight. The recommendation to deny will now head to the full board of CB3, who will ch-check it out before making the final call. [Bowery Boogie; previously]
