79th St. Project's First Duplexes Hit Market From $9M To $17M

New, 20 comments

Once home to a petite marble building that once housed ubiquitous eatery and candy purveyor Schrafft's, and then an antique shop, this Upper East Side site east of Lexington Avenue is getting a total makeover (courtesy of developer Anbau Enterprises, BKSK Architects, and interior designers Pembrooke & Ives) into seven duplexes. Sales just launched at 155 East 79th Street, and three listings are currently live. Among the seven units are one garden maisonette, asking $8,950,000, and one penthouse with outdoor space, which is really more like a triplex and wants $16,950,000. Meanwhile, Duplex 7 wants an even $12M. All the apartments have four or five bedrooms and range from 3,300 to 4,500 square feet. Amenities include a doorman, fitness center, and individual storage rooms. Move-ins should start in early 2015.
